Aloe vera barbadensis has been traditionally used as a healing substance in almost all cultures of the world. The wide range of nutritional substances that Aloe contains may explain its broad spectrum of use. Its most immediate benefit to the human physiology is its ability to assist with the detoxification of the digestive (and other) membranes, as well as helping to promote membrane and tissue repair.
This products is derived from locally-grown plants and provides the special characteristics and principles of fresh Aloe vera. Many of these vital compounds are found in different parts of the leaf, making a whole leaf extraction necessary to yield these important principles. Many other extracts use only the pulp of the Aloe, in order to avoid its laxative activity, but this is actually an important part of Aloe’s detoxifying effect and many vital ingredients are lost by not using a whole leaf extract. In the preparation of this supplement, extra care has been taken to maximize the levels of key polysaccharides and nutrients from all parts of the leaf, important for the time-honoured health benefits of Aloe. These benefits arise largely from its ability to clear toxicity (ama in Ayurveda) from the gastrointestinal tract, which is its major application in traditional Ayurvedic medicine.
