This product is a maximum strength hydrochloric acid and pepsin supplement designed to assist in the management of hypoacidic states. The addition of a herbal bitter (gentian root) helps to stimulate the parietal cells’ own production of hydrochloric acid.

Contraindications: Do not administer with non-steroidal anti-inflammatory agents or to patients diagnosed with gastric ulcers, duodenal ulcers or hiatus hernia.
Do not take if you have swallowing difficulty. Take each dose with a a large glass of water. Do not lie down during the 15-20 minute period following each dose.
Caution: Metagest tablets contain trace amounts of lactose.
