Diseases & Conditions

Naturopaths look for the underlying cause of disease rather than to just treat the symptoms, which we believe, are expressions of the body’s own attempt to heal. We treat the person as a whole, educate and encourage habits that prevent disease but believe that even in severe disease states, wellness and health can often be attainable. Listed are some common conditions which we may be able to help with to increase your well-being.

Herbal Medicine

Knowledge of herbs has been recorded since at least 2000 BC in ancient civilisations. Herbs have active constituents which are responsible for their medicinal actions and are often used together for synergistic (or greater) effect.

We offer a wide range of herbal products including Traditional Chinese Medicine to produce a great medicinal response.

Homoeopathy

Homoeopathy, which began in the 18th century, has remedies for people, not disease. It aims to reinforce the body’s vital force, thus enhancing the power of its own natural healing ability. The theory of ‘like cures like’ is based on the principle that the remedies used can produce symptoms in healthy people to those presenting in the patient that needs that remedy.

Flower Essences

Flower essences have been used for healing for over a century since Dr Edward Bach, an English physician perfected their use. He sought remedies, using flowers, that restore harmony to the mind, thereby enhancing the body’s ability to assist with its own healing and vitality.

Essential Nutrients for Health

Proper nutrition means that all the essential nutrients are supplied and utilised in adequate balance to maintain health and wellbeing.

Good nutrition is essential for normal organ development, function, maintenance, optimum activity and energy levels for the resistance to infections and disease and for the ability to repair bodily damage or injury.

Vitamins & Minerals

Substances required for healthy growth, normal body functioning and essential in our diet, vitamins are either water soluble – B’s and C, or fat soluble – A, D, E and K. Although some vitamins can be synthesised in the body, minerals cannot. Supplements can make a huge impact on health, as they regulate our metabolism, and are essential components of enzyme systems necessary for bodily function. We offer a range of high quality practitioner supplements to promote good health.

Weight Loss

Obesity is one of the leading health issues of our time. Its prevalence has tripled in the last 3 decades. Obesity can result from dietary, lifestyle or environmental factors causing metabolic dysfunction and then go on to be a risk factor for other conditions such as diabetes and heart disease. We have strategies for metabolic dysfunction and weight management to help our patients maintain a healthy body composition.
